Harley Beauty Review exists to give readers reliable, independent information on beauty and make-up. Our editors are occupied with keeping you informed on the latest developments in skincare and make-up, together with practical, expert-led guidance rather than fashion for its own sake. From skincare ingredients to in-depth product reviews, we try to give you what you need to look after your skin and feel at ease in it.

We think beauty is about more than appearance. It concerns confidence, self-expression and feeling comfortable in your own skin, and good information plays a part in that.

We buy everything we review ourselves, from ordinary shops, without telling the retailer or the manufacturer who we are. No brand pays for a place in our pages, no review is agreed in advance, and nothing on this site is for sale. A product might cost £6 or £60: we test it on the same terms either way.

How our findings are checked

Before a review is published, it goes to an independent panel for sign-off. The panel includes a dermatologist with long experience in ageing skin, a research scientist who studies skin biology in the laboratory, and a consultant dermatologist who treats skin conditions in private practice. Their role is to check our testing methods and confirm that our conclusions are actually supported by what the testing shows, not to approve products or endorse brands.

Corrections and suggestions

If you spot an error, think we have missed something, or would like us to test a product category we have not yet covered, we want to hear about it. You can reach the editorial team through our contact page with corrections, questions or suggestions for what we should look at next.
